Black Kids Play Program™

The Black Kids Play™ program is a program designed for play therapists interested in developing their play therapy skills when working with Black children and families. The program is based on the book, “Black Students Matter: Play Therapy Techniques to Support Black Students Experiencing Racial Trauma” by April Duncan, DSW, LCSW, RPT-S™. The Black Kids Play™ program builds on the book by applying the concepts to additional settings including community settings, in-home play therapy sessions and residential settings. This program seeks to promote cultural inclusivity while also learning ways to identify and address race-based stressors in play therapy with Black children and families.
Black Kids Play Program™ Coursework
The coursework for the Black Kids Play Program™ is designed to build cultural inclusivity and to provide the education needed for clinicians to better support Black children and families. Participants will gain new insights and walk away with better cultural awareness and dozens of real life activities, handouts, and advanced learning practices to use in their own playrooms.
