Webinar Description:

Play therapy supervision should be a safe place for play therapists from all backgrounds. It is the responsibility of the Registered Play Therapist Supervisor to provide ethically sound play therapy supervision, in a supportive environment that is respectful of all backgrounds and beliefs. This webinar will explore the importance of providing culturally inclusive play therapy supervision sessions, both in-person and virtually, that sets the tone to mentor culturally competent play therapists. Participants will also discuss the importance of appropriate consultation and confrontation with play therapists who may exhibit bias in play therapy with children and families from diverse backgrounds.

  1. Use play genograms to explore diversity responsiveness in play therapy supervision

  2. Identify recommendations for providing culturally inclusive play therapy supervision

  3. Discuss the core concepts of Relational-Cultural Play Therapy Supervision (RCT)
