Workshop Description:
Technology can be a touchy subject among play therapists, as many struggle with the comfort of integrating electronics into their playroom. However, this workshop will challenge professionals to respect the inclusion of generational trends in the playroom such as video games, virtual reality and apps. Participants will explore important ethical considerations when introducing technology into individual and group play therapy sessions, as well as best practices for teleplay therapy sessions. The workshop will also explore the use of sand tray, art and game play therapy activities to implement in teleplay therapy sessions with adolescents and teens.

Discuss ethical considerations in implementing technology in the playroom.
Explain best practices in teleplay therapy sessions.
Use technology with play-based interventions in the playroom.
Identify video games to use in play therapy sessions with clients of all ages.
