Training Description:
Sand tray therapy is an intervention that can be used with clients of all backgrounds in the playroom. It provides a non-verbal medium for clients to work through a variety of issues like trauma, anxiety and grief, in play therapy sessions. This 2-day workshop (with webinar option) will provide the play therapist with the foundational knowledge and skill to implement sand tray interventions into their play therapy practice. Time will be spent exploring various theoretical applications to sand tray too including Child Centered Play Therapy, Adlerian play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy and Gestalt Play Therapy. This highly experiential workshop will prepare play therapists to integrate sand tray therapy in a variety of settings including:

- Apply cultural inclusivity in play therapy sessions with sand tray therapy.
- Discuss ways to implement sand tray therapy when providing mobile play therapy.
