Workshop Description:

This advanced workshop will target specific “problem behaviors” that are often seen in clients across the lifespan throughout the play therapy process. In the playroom, this child may struggle with boundaries, display defiant behaviors or lack empathy. It takes a skilled play therapist to identify and support these issues in a nonjudgmental and supportive way. This workshop will help play therapists enhance their competence in addressing issues such as impulse control and anger management. Play therapy interventions will focus on ways to support children and adolescents through issues such as sleep issues and impaired relationships. Time will be spent exploring seminal and historical play therapy seminal theories to enhance skill building in social, cognitive and emotional development from children from all backgrounds.
